Blood Donor

I started giving blood at my work place. My grandaugher was diagnosed with AML, a type of Leukemia at the age of 15 months. Many platelets and blood were given to her in a 6 month period of a fast growing cancer. She is now a survivor, 17 years old.

I give blood in honor of my mother. She had a leak somewhere in her small bowel that could not be found. Her problem began when she had MRSA after abdominal surgery. It left scarring that would not allow doctors to see where the leak(s) were. She went through over two years of transfusions until she said no more. She passed away on April 22, 2016. I give because I know how a family appreciates having that blood available.

My father was a tank driver in Europe in WWII, and was a wrecker driver for many years after the war. He helped save people whose lifeblood was pulsing away. He was a lifelong blood donor.

Blood Donor

I have been giving blood for nine years because I need to know my blood type. I have been helping save babies lives and others. It makes me feel good when I receive a phone call after I have give and they tell me where my blood went and what type of live I have help saved. I will keep on giving until I can no longer give no more.
